SALISBURY, N.C. —"Katfish" Karter Beattie scored two top ten finishes despite some bad luck on opening night at Millbridge Speedway. KBR teammate Jace Pastore, 10, walked off with the win in the R-Micro division. Now the team returns this week for race two, looking for more checkered flags.
Beattie had a myriad of issues throughout the night, but he never gave up and managed to salvage two decent finishes to start the season. He is in DuQuoin, Illinois, competing this weekend, and looking forward to returning to Millbridge on Wednesday and competing for the win.
He finished eighth in Non-Wing Micro after starting 19th, a tremendous comeback for just his fifth start in Non-Wing. He finished tenth after getting tangled up in a multi-car incident in the Winged Micro feature, a race won by Payton Johnson, who runs under the KBR banner in Outlaw Kart competition.
Pastore's win in R-Micro was spectacular. He was virtually unchallenged throughout the entire race, gliding his No. 20 through the corners like a pro, holding off Cade Wolfe and Brantlee Lamb to win the race. Emily Dietrich, who runs with KRB in Outlaw Kart divisions, finished ninth in the R-Micro main.
Other past or present members of the KBR "family" showed well, with Nathan Meendering finishing seventh in Non-Wing feature action, Tanner Tucker coming home third in Winged Micro action, and Coen McDaniel, coming off his first USCS Sprint Car feature win, placing fifth in the Winged Micro main.
Own Halpain finished the Winged Micro main in 18th position. Emeryn Fenton crossed the line in eighth place in JR Sprint, with Trace Latour 15th in that main.
Riley Dawson joined us from the Midwest as well and had some tough luck in the B-Main for Winged Micro, getting caught up in an incident and finishing ninth.
Here is a post-race interview with Riley...
Millbridge Speedway returns to action on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24th and 25th, with on-track action at 6:15 pm Eastern and full live coverage on DirtVision.com
